International Migrants Day (IOM Berlin)
2 December 2025 | Berlin
GAaNF joined an International Migrants Day event hosted by IOM Germany in Berlin on
2 December 2025, a format built around literature and dialogue, with the goal of creating a human entry point into migration debates.

We appreciated the approach because it slows the conversation down. Migration is often discussed through numbers, headlines, and policy language. Storytelling and dialogue make space for nuance, lived experience, and the everyday realities that are often missing from public debate.
The evening also connected directly to questions we work on regularly: how welcome culture is built, how workplaces and communities can be more inclusive, and how migration systems can be fairer and clearer for the people moving through them.
What we took from the event
- Dialogue works best when it is grounded in lived experience
- Culture can open doors that policy language sometimes closes
- Inclusion is built through everyday practice, not only “big” decisions
