Giving Africa a New Face e.V.

On 6 December 2025, GAaNF hosted the third edition of “WIR STELLEN UNS VOR! 3.0 – GEMEINSAM GESTALTEN!” at the Festsaal, Kolpinghaus München-Zentral in Munich. From 10:00 to 16:30, the event brought together individuals, initiatives, and associations for a full day of exchange, visibility, and community building.

GAaNF joined an International Migrants Day event hosted by IOM Germany in Berlin on 2 December 2025, a format built around literature and dialogue, with the goal of creating a human entry point into migration debates. 

GAaNF was represented at the inauguration of UN Women’s new global office in Bonn, a milestone that strengthens UN Women’s global work at a time when progress on gender equality faces major pushback in many parts of the world. 

On 19 September 2025, GAaNF hosted the third edition of the African Ambassadors Labour Mobility Summit in Berlin, together with the 360° Alliance, the German Africa Foundation (DAS) and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES). 

In July, we took dedicated time as a team to strengthen how we work together. Team-building is not a “nice extra” for organisations like ours. It is part of what keeps work sustainable, especially when activities move fast and responsibilities spread across programmes, partners, and locations.

GAaNF took part in the Künstlermeile in Haar as part of the SOMMA in der Stadt programme, an open-air summer event that brings together local initiatives, culture, and community life in the town centre.

GAaNF was represented by Christine Ogola at the Diaspora Women in Action (DWiA) conference in Berlin, a space centered on diaspora women’s leadership, networking, and collective strategies for impact. The conference highlighted the importance of strengthening connections across communities and making diaspora expertise more visible in public discourse and cooperation practice.

GAaNF joined the wider stakeholder environment around the Wirtschaftsnetzwerk Afrika at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) in Berlin. The partner meeting brought together institutions and implementing partners supporting German SMEs engaging with African markets, and offered space for exchange on cooperation formats, coordination, and practical partnership tools.

GAaNF was represented at the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD) 2025, one of the key international forums for exchange on the global energy transition. The event convened decision-makers, experts, civil society, and business to discuss pathways toward a secure, affordable, and sustainable energy future.

We started the year with an information session introducing our mentoring activities and what participants can expect from the program. The session offered an overview of how mentoring works, who the program is for, and how interested participants can get involved.

We are excited to share that the 360° Labour Mobility Program  is now available in Ghana & Nigeria! Since its official launch, the program has received an overwhelming response from young professionals, particularly in the IT and Hospitality sectors.

It's our greatest pleasure to announce the start of our 360° Labour Mobility project in Ghana and Nigeria from March 2025!

The program aims at enhancing the employability of the young talents both regionally and internationally with main focus on the IT and Hospitality sectors.

‘I have learnt that art is more than expression - it is a tool for community and integration. This event has broadened my horizons.’

With these words, one participant accurately summarised the essence of the ‘WIR STELLEN UNS VOR 2.0’. 

This year, the event is dedicated to diversity in our community and would like to emphasise this added value. As a cultural metropolis, Munich in particular plays a major role as a role model for other regions. The many migration-related upheavals in politics and society show how much need there is for education, encounters and dialogue.

From September 11-12, 2024, Finland and Somalia co-hosted the thematic meeting of the Khartoum Process in Helsinki, which focused on the use of migration for sustainable development.

Our last legal workshop for third country nationals in Germany took place on 31/07/24. The topic was migration law, family law and anti-discrimination law.

Last weekend, we had a fantastic multicultural summer festival in Haar, and July 27, 2024, will be remembered by all of us for a long time.

We are excited to announce that we will be participating in the Festival and Künstlermeile on 07th of July 2024 at 11 am CET.

On the 6th of July 2024 at 10 am CET the Münchner Selbsthilfetag (Munich Self-Help-Day) will take place. And guess what? We will be there.

On the weekend of 19 and 20 August 2023, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) opened its doors to interested citizens. The aim of this event was to facilitate an open dialogue on German development policy.

After a successful launch on 28.07.2023, the 360° Labour Mobility Alliance is ready for the next steps.
