The meeting focused on the use of migration for sustainable development. It was an honor for GAaNF to participate in this important event through its board member Ms. Edith Otiende-Lawani and to present its own projects and approaches in the field of diaspora integration and labor migration.
More than 80 participants, including representatives from 13 diaspora, youth and women's organizations, discussed how these groups can influence migration and development policy. Of particular note was the Diaspora Innovation Hub, a platform that gives a voice to civil society organizations - especially women's and youth groups - and promotes the diaspora's contribution to sustainable development.
Our projects were presented as part of this hub, with a focus on skilled labor immigration and the role of the diaspora as bridge builders between countries of origin and Germany. Through the valuable exchange with high-profile political decision-makers and networking with other migrant organizations, GAaNF was able to gather valuable impulses for the further development of migration policy.
